Emergency Food Pantry

Pantry Founding Director, Austra Blaus with a client
The Emergency Food Pantry at Christ Lutheran Church opened its doors in 1981. The program has evolved since that time. Currently we operate as an “emergency” pantry. Families are supported with groceries up to three times a year. Clients must provide two valid ID’s, with one being a photo ID. They also must sign a “Self Declaration of Need” statement yearly.
The pantry is a member of the Community Food Warehouse in Sharon, where we procure our main stock of non-perishables, supplemented from local grocery stores and Federally funnded food. Our income for the pantry is all from our congregational donations and some organizations. All our staff are volunteers. Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
Operating hours are Mondays 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. in March, April, November and December, and on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. all year. We are closed on Holidays.
Christ Lutheran Church would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the individuals, organizations, and businesses that made donations during 2011. The church is truly grateful for the donations and the people receiving those donations will greatly appreciate them.
