Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, PA, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Director of Music to lead and support our church music ministry. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with others, has a passion for music, and can help our choir and Joybells continue to enrich our worship services and church community through music.

Position Responsibilities:

The Part-Time Director of Music will oversee the church's choir and Joybells ministry. Responsibilities include:

Directing the Church Choir: Lead weekly rehearsals and prepare choir members for monthly worship performances.
Directing Joybells: Lead weekly Joybells rehearsals and prepare members for monthly worship performances.
Music Selection and Arrangement: Select, arrange, and prepare appropriate music for both the choir and Joybells.
Weekly Rehearsals: Attend and direct choir and Joybells practices every Tuesday.
Monthly Worship Services: Be present for the Sunday worship service when the choir and/or Joybells are scheduled to perform, typically one Sunday per month.
Worship and Music Committee: Attend the monthly Worship and Music Committee meeting to help plan music and coordinate the church's music ministry.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will:

Have musical experience and the ability to lead and direct a choir and handbell ensemble.
Be organized, dependable, and comfortable working with musicians of varying experience levels.
Be able to select, arrange, and prepare music appropriate for worship.
Have strong communication and leadership skills.
Have knowledge of the Christian church's worship traditions and music, preferred.
Have experience playing the piano and/or organ, appreciated but not required.

Please note: Playing the organ or piano during regular Sunday worship services is not an expected responsibility of this position.
